She began writing GOD in university before she published 1/2 Prince and Kill No More, making it her very first series. However, she then went on to publish 1/2 Prince and Kill No More before GOD. Later, when she decided to publish GOD, she rewrote it from scratch. GOD was a beginning for Yu Wo, and many similar themes and ideas from GOD, as well as characters inspired by the series, can be found in her later works. The published version of GOD is finished at 11 volumes; however, in 2014, Yu Wo began the endeavor of reprinting GOD, stating that substantial revisions would be made to further develop the latter half of the story. The revised, 2014 edition of GOD is 4 volumes long.
